Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda, Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not members of the military, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or municipal police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately inform the authentic Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by someone who,
