Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Phone Calls to Sell Fake Magazines

They impersonate carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs around Garda’s middle and upper areas, offering magazine subscriptions from the Carabinieri.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the financial police, police force, fire brigade, or municipal police.

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
