Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Phone Frauds

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to the arma magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, the police, the fire brigade, or the Comune wardens.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the true Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have fallen prey to those who,

if they ask for money, will disappear without a trace.
