Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Region for Fraudulent Magazine Deals

They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering subscriptions to army magazines.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you have the suspicion that you have been targeted by someone who, after obtaining money, no longer shows up.
