Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Region Fraud Calls

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to the army‘s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have become a target of those who,
