Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Region to Trick Business Owners

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to magazines associated with the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or municipal guard.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications that have no connection to law enforcement forces.
