Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Region to Trick Business Owners

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopowners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering subscriptions to army magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, the police, the fire brigade, or the Comune police.

Recognizing the scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, exercise caution and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
