Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda to Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or municipal officers.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the true Carabinieri—just dial 112—at the first sign that you have been targeted by individuals who,

once they have obtained the money, disappear and are no longer visible.
