Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, firefighters, or municipal officers.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be alert and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

would demand money, and then disappears.
