Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda to Trick Business Owners

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda, proposing subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not members of the military, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
