Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda, Warn Authorities

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not members of the military, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigade, or the Comune (Municipality) police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri by dialing 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

if they had money, would no longer appear.
