Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to the force’s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, general police, fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

Identifying scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately alert the true Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they demand money, disappear and are no longer visible.
