Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda region, offering magazine subscriptions from the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have no connection to the law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately alert the true Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
