Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to army’s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the financial police, police, fire brigade, or the Municipality guards.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately alert the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
