Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, proposing subscriptions to magazines associated with the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, be alert and immediately notify the Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they have taken money, disappear thereafter.
