Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, proposing subscriptions to army magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance departments, the police, firefighters, or the municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by someone who,

if they had money, would no longer show themselves.
