Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not soldiers, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately alert the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect that you have been targeted by someone who, after obtaining money, no longer shows themselves.
