Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Lower and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire department, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be alert and immediately inform the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

after obtaining money, disappear and do not show up again.
