Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to the arma magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Comune police.

How to recognize the scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri— simply dial 112— as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after obtaining money, no longer appear.
