Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines associated with the military.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance police, police, fire brigade, or municipal officers.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to fake magazines or those not related to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, once they have received the money, disappear.
