Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

Pretending to be Carabinieri, they contact hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in Medio and Alto Garda by phone, proposing subscriptions to magazines affiliated with the forces.

These are not members of the military, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal officers.

How to recognize scams and how to respond

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately alert the Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after collecting the money, disappear.
