Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the middle and upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to Army magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

Caution against scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be alert and immediately inform the carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect that you have been targeted by individuals who, after collecting the money, disappear.
