Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to magazines associated with the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigade, or municipal officers.

They often offer subscriptions to fake magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately inform the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect that you have been targeted by individuals who,

once in possession of the money, disappear from sight.
