Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri in phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal guards.

How to recognize scams and how to respond

They often suggest subscriptions to fake magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

So, beware and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by individuals who,
