Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazines in Garda

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to military-themed magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigades, or municipal officers.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect that you have been targeted by individuals who, after taking the money, disappear.
