Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Military Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to military magazines of the armed forces.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipalitys.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to fictitious magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

after obtaining money, disappears without further contact.
