Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offerings Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not soldiers, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to fake magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the true Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

claiming to have money, no longer appear on the scene.
