Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Selling Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to army’s magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect being targeted by someone who,

if they had money, would no longer be visible.
