Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They are impersonating carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to Arma magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

Beware of scams and how to react

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

So be cautious and immediately inform the carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

after receiving the money, disappear without a trace.
