Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to Arma magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, at different times, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, firefighters, or municipal police.

Beware of scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to fake magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after collecting the money, disappear.
