Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone contacts with hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, proposing subscriptions to magazines from the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to respond

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect being targeted by someone who, after getting the money, disappears.
