Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, proposing magazine subscriptions from the force.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, the police, firefighters, or municipal guard.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately inform the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
