Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to army magazines.

They are not military personnel, but con artists who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the true Carabinieri — just dial 112 — at the first sign that you may have been targeted by someone who,

having money, disappears and is no longer visible.
