Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering magazine subscriptions related to the armed forces.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be affiliated with the finance police, police, fire brigade, or Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the legitimate Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
