Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda region, offering subscriptions to the force‘s magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance authorities, the police, firefighters, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to fictitious magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

having received money, no longer shows up.
