Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, proposing subscriptions to the Arma‘s magazines.

They are not members of the military but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately inform the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by someone who,

having obtained money, no longer shows up.
