Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

Pretending to be Carabinieri, they contact hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda regions by phone, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, in some instances, claim to belong to the finance department, police, firefighters, or local Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

after obtaining money, disappear without a trace.
