Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Businesses in Garda Region

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to army magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigades, or municipal guards.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

after obtaining the money, disappear from view.
