Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Area Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda area, offering subscriptions to magazines from the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately inform the genuine Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who, if they had money, would no longer show themselves.
