Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Area Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when phoning hoteliers, shopkeepers, craftsmen, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, proposing magazine subscriptions from the arm.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.
