Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Business Owners

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs of Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines related to the force.

However, these are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the financial police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after taking your money, disappear.
