Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Business Owners

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, proposing subscriptions to magazines associated with the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, at different times, claim to belong to the finance sector, police, fire brigade, or municipal guards.

Recognizing the scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the authorities.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by individuals who,
