Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Business Owners

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, proposing subscriptions to magazines related to the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or municipal police forces.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
