Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Business Owners

They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These are not real military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance authorities, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
