Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Business Owners

Pretending to be Carabinieri, they contact hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in the middle and upper Garda area via phone, offering subscriptions to magazines of the Arma.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

So, be cautious and immediately notify the actual Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after getting the money, disappear.
