Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to the arm‘s magazines.

They are not members of the military, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the Comune (Municipality) police.

Recognizing Fraudulent Schemes

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you are being targeted by someone who,

has money but no longer shows themselves.
