Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, proposing subscriptions to the army’s magazines.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately inform the real Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

if they have taken money, will no longer show themselves.
