Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the regular police, the fire brigade, or the local police.

How to recognize scams and how to respond

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be alert and immediately notify the real Carabinieri by dialing 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after taking your money, disappear.
