Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Businesses

They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, proposing subscriptions to the weapon’s magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or to those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect being targeted by someone who,

if they had money, would not be seen again.
