Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda, proposing subscriptions to the arms magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the Comune (Municipal Office).

How to recognize scams

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — by dialing 112 — as soon as you sense you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they had money, would no longer be visible.
